Money Is Used For Buying Or Selling Goods, For Measuring Value And For Storing Wealth.Almost every society now has a money economy based on coins and paper notes of one kind or another.The earliest money was commodity money.The only test for money is that it be widely accepted in return for goods and services.Some kinds of money perform this function well, others not so well.But good or bad, it is all money.Corn does as well as some other commodities that have served as money throughout history.But there are problems with most commodity moneys, including corn.The power to coin money was viewed as an act of sovereignty, and counterfeiting, an act of treason.For example, the farmer would visit the goldsmith to withdraw enough money to buy a horse.
